Writer Wednesday – BVilivusonline Highlight
What got you into writing:
All my life I had the craving to be a storyteller and I did not know it, but stories were always being created in my head. Every car ride, every shower, every day watching my brothers and sisters play video games, it all stimulated my imagination and let my mind dive deep. It was not until freshman year of high school that it really clicked that I should write. I came up with LoL champion concepts, game concepts, and most importantly, the seed of a story that I would continue to nurture into what is still growing into my five part book series to this day, and a story that I aim to continue, in a way, all my life. However, my passion in writing and storytelling do not necessarily go hand in hand, I do not read too frequently, and my confidence in my ability to write my book well is less than ideal, but the stories are where my heart is, and my drive to live. Then, in tenth grade English glass, we had a poetry assignment where we were told to submit ten poems, ours or ones we found online that we liked; I chose to write all ten, just for fun. Turns out, I was actually somewhat talented at writing poetry, and I enjoyed it so much that I continue to write poetry today! So, my life passion basically just came out of the blue one day!
What mediums inspire you:
Hm, to answer that, I guess I could say: Early league of Legends Lore, Bioshock, the book “The Giver”, Hitchhiker’s guide to the galaxy, the odyssey…
A lot of various songs. Nowadays I take inspiration of every piece of art I come across; it all has great value if you seek to understand, and there are so many truly unique ideas that can be contemplated on and interpreted in my own way to fit into my creative vision. And honestly, I am really moved by inspirational quotes and other corny stuff, but I love it!
Otherwise, the thought of being able to do any amount of good with anything I create is good enough to keep me going.
But basically, I have such passion for it because I think any idea, no matter how improbable or stupid it may seem, is worth sharing to someone who wants to hear. I have so, so many ideas about so many things, and thoughts , and opinions, that I have need to share it; that’s my fuel. If I go nowhere in life, then I’ll tell stories and lessons anyway, if I succeed, then the limit is the possibility to change the world, or at least a party of it. I never stop dreaming, and I dream big, but it’s time that I wake up and live my dreams.
What is your ideal career/How did you discover it:
Well, the ideal career for writing is simply to be an author, but even then, you have to be big to live off of just that. My intention is to keep the job I have for quite some time; it’s like a shower, or staring out the car window, in that it lets my mind free while my body is autonomous. My first job is essentially my dream job. In fact, I aim to keep writing stories, poetry, and philosophy as a major side-hobby for life, but as far as careers go, I would prefer to get into voice acting, and possibly even singing and songwriting. I believe I’m capable of that, and have a major passion for it too.I guess you could put that it was the school writing assignments that I decided to get creative with, instead of disliking and bullshitting them like most people do. That was I favorite part of high school, was the essays and such. In fact, the first post on my tumblr blog, the “Wolves” story, was an 11th grade writing assignment. I chose to write my own gothic/horror story, out of a list of options, and wrote it entirely within the span of basically an hour. When I posted it, I rewrote it and made it sound a little better, of course. It was that project in particular, along with the poetry one, that really activated a switch in my brain, I would have to say.
